PROGRAM STATUS

Alabama's BEAD Build Is Underway

In March 2026, Alabama’s Final BEAD Proposal was approved, awarding roughly $460 million across 63 projects to bring broadband to about 92,000 unserved locations statewide. About 71 percent of those projects are fiber, and the program is administered by ADECA. Construction is now getting underway.

Many of these projects are awarded to prime contractors who need qualified local subcontractors already operating in Alabama. ATFS is headquartered in Huntsville, holds Alabama Specialty Contractor licensing, and runs active crews across the state.
