ENGINEERING
AND DESIGN

ATFS provides fiber optic engineering and design for outside plant deployments across Alabama and Tennessee. We handle route planning, permitting, and construction-ready drawings as part of a turnkey scope.

OVERVIEW

Outside Plant Engineering and Design

ATFS provides outside plant engineering and design for fiber deployments across Alabama and Tennessee. Our scope runs from the first route survey through the final as-built record, covering aerial and underground design, permitting, and make-ready engineering. Drawings are prepared to the prime’s construction specification and to the requirements of the permitting authority on each segment.

Engineering starts in the field. We walk the route, verify existing pole lines and utilities, and produce construction drawings for aerial and underground plant. Aerial design includes make-ready and pole loading analysis to NESC standards. Underground design covers bore paths, conduit schedules, and crossing designs for ALDOT, municipal, and railroad jurisdictions.

Because ATFS owns both the design and the construction scope, field conditions are identified during engineering rather than during the build. Permit packages, material take-offs, and as-built records are produced under ATFS and delivered into the project documentation package.
