ATFS builds underground fiber plant across Alabama and Tennessee using horizontal directional drilling, open-cut trenching, and plowing. Our scope covers conduit and innerduct installation, cable pull-through and blowing, and handhole and vault placement. Work is built to the prime’s construction specification and the requirements of the road or utility jurisdiction on each segment.
Underground work depends on permitting and locates, and we manage both in-house. ATFS coordinates right-of-way permitting with ALDOT, county road departments, and municipal authorities, and submits 811 One Call locates before any excavation begins. Crossing designs for roadways, railroads, and existing utilities are prepared and permitted as the route requires.
We work rural right-of-way, suburban corridors, and roadway crossings, including aerial-to-underground transitions. Bore paths and depths are documented with GPS, and as-built records are delivered into the project closeout package alongside the splicing and OTDR records.
