Aerial Fiber Placement

ATFS delivers aerial fiber installation on existing pole infrastructure across Alabama and Tennessee. The scope covers strand and lash, make-ready coordination, and NESC clearance verification, with traffic control and safety coordinated on every span.

OVERVIEW

Aerial Outside Plant Construction

ATFS provides aerial fiber installation across Alabama and Tennessee as a turnkey subcontractor to prime contractors. We build aerial outside plant on existing pole infrastructure, lashing fiber to existing strand, installing and tensioning new strand where the design calls for it, and coordinating make-ready with pole owners and joint-use utilities. Every span is built to NESC clearance standards and the prime’s construction specification.

The work covers single-mode and multimode fiber, all-dielectric self-supporting cable, and standard lashed builds on messenger strand. We work rural pole lines, suburban distribution routes, and roadway corridors, and we adjust crew setup and traffic control to match the road classification and jurisdiction on each segment.

ATFS owns the make-ready phase. The make-ready scope surveys the route, documents existing attachments, coordinates transfers with the utilities, and clears conflicts before fiber goes up. The path is ready by the time we string, which holds the prime’s milestone dates. Pole attachment permitting and joint-use coordination are managed in-house, not passed to a separate vendor.

Strand, lash, and traffic control run under one accountable lead. The prime gets one schedule, one point of contact, and one team for the full aerial scope. Completed spans are tested and documented, then rolled into the project closeout package alongside the splicing and OTDR records.
